Jaw orthopaedics is a specific field of orthodontics dealing with broken relations between upper and lower jaw or jaws and face via special tools. For example, lower jaw prognatism, backwards lower jaw (Class II), or upper forward push can be fixed with orthopaedic treatment in earlier ages (Class II anomalies).
Only fixing teeth can be achieved by orthodontics, but mostly orthopaedic treatment and orthodontics treatment are conducted together.
