First of all, mouth hygiene is of utmost importance. It is the same as your natural teeth, otherwise you may lose your implants.
If you don’t brush your teeth, gums, and implants meticulously, bacterial attacks may cause swelling, redness, and bleeding, followed by bone loss, reaching all the way up to implant loss. Of course, you may also experience tooth decay and gum problems on your natural teeth as well.
If you already made up your mind to get an implant, as a conscious individual who takes care of his/her body, we believe you are capable of handling the hygiene issues. A little training with your dentist and routine controls will facilitate the process, and you might be a problem-free implant patient.
Another important issue is smoking. You should not be smoking at all, but especially after surgery it will affect recovery period negatively.
